A Revolutionary Cash-In-Transit Vehicle

INKAS® Armored Vehicle Manufacturing has successfully designed, produced and deployed a new and revolutionary armored Mercedes-Benz Sprinter built for the transportation of monetary goods and other valuables. INKAS® has produced this class of vehicles for quite some time now, however not one of this stature or level of uniqueness or operability.

The newest iteration of an armored Sprinter by INKAS® is able to effortlessly accommodate approximately 1200 additional pounds of cargo without a single modification to the vehicle’s suspension system – an industry first. The increased payload is achieved through the careful engineering of a new body shell built using industry-leading composites as well as proprietary light-weight armoring materials and components.

The new armored vehicle excels beyond past models as a result of its lower gross vehicle weight (GVW) as well as lower drag coefficient and center of gravity. The interior of the cash in transit van also stands out from the crowd as INKAS® designers successfully incorporated three fully separate compartments within the vehicle adding an enhanced safety layer atop of the already bulletproof vehicle. The vehicle is equipped with heavy duty rear and side doors providing easier loading and unloading as well as effortless access for security guards. The Sprinter’s standard sliding side door was replaced with a swing door, improving overall reliability, ballistic protection, and is easier to operate. The hinges on the cargo doors were specifically designed to support the extra weight of armored doors. All in all, this vehicle’s excellent maneuverability, payload capacity and safety level makes it an ideal choice for servicing banks in populous urban areas.

“We are pleased to introduce the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter for armored security services. As one of the divisions at the INKAS® Group of companies is a security firm providing cash management solutions, we have firsthand experience with operating a fleet of armored vehicles. Therefore, we know all of the requirements for cash in transit vehicles, including the importance in being able to carry additional weight along with a high level of maneuverability,” says Philip Daskal, VP of International Sales, INKAS® Armored Vehicle Manufacturing.

Perimeter armoring by INKAS® Armored Vehicle Manufacturing reduces the risk of threat to personnel as well as the valuables inside. With a 3.0-liter V-6 turbo diesel DOHC 24-valve engine, a 5-speed automatic and manual mode, rear wheel drive and 4 wheel disc brakes this vehicle is very easy to maneuver. Its comfort level consists of automatic climate control, cruise control, power locks and spacious seating. INKAS® can armor the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter according to armor level CEN B2, B4 or B6.

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is already a staple vehicle known for its best-in-class cargo capacity, payload and interior height. However, with the modifications made by INKAS® Armored the vehicle’s improved characteristics make it an ideal choice for use in armored valuables transportation.
